With windows xp service park 2(sp2) internet explorer allows you to prevent pop-ups from appearing over pages you want to view while you're surfing the internet.
There are so many ways it can be prevented depending on how far you go about it.
When windows xp (sp2) is installed on the computer system, pop-up blocker is turned on and is set to the medium settings in internet explorer, which means it will bock most pop-ups automatically. The settings for the pop-up blocker lets you see pop-up that bare opened and also play sound on the information bar when pop-up is blocked. You can adjust the settings so that it works your way.
To Change Pop-Up Blocker Settings
1.Open internet explorer
2.On the tools menu point to pop-up blocker and click pop-up blocker settings.
3.select the high,low or medium settings near the bottom of the dialog box.
NOTE:When it notifies you that a pop-up has been blocked and you want to see it, just right click on the Information bar and choose allow pop-up or press down the CTRL key when windows page opens.
